Councillors get a raise

24 Aug, 2009 11:47 AM
CARDINIA councillors will get a pay rise in December, maintaining their allowance at the maximum level set by the State Government.

Councillor allowances were reviewed in June and the shire called for public comment, but no submissions were received.

From December, annual allowances will rise by 2.5 per cent to $20,705 for councillors, while the mayor will get $64,062.

Councillors also receive 9 per cent superannuation contribution.
