Accuracy, speed help ROC win

Doveton 46

RYTHDALE Officer Cardinia advanced to the first semi-final after defeating Doveton by 15 goals in the Casey Cardinia League elimination final on Saturday. The Doves were without playmaker Jodie Bird, who was unavailable because of a wedding commitment.

ROC's line-up looked tough to beat, with Sarah White and Nic Robins working beautifully together in goals. Doveton defenders Jasmine Friend and Jess Benn worked hard for rebounds.

ROC's Andrea Boon fed her two goalers with quick, accurate passes and dominated the game.

Doveton's Vanessa San Jose, who was also named captain for the match, did her club proud; her accuracy was astounding as she hit shots without fail.

The game was close until the end of the third quarter, but a combination of lost scoring opportunities and the loss of Bernadette Diamond cost Doveton dearly in the end.
