BERWICK Junior Football Club under-15 utility Mitchell Pugh had a day to remember against Beaconsfield, notching up his 100th game.
The under 11s provided the thriller of round 12 in the Dandenong District Junior Football League with their first ever win over Beaconsfield Blues, 5.8(38) to 4.9(33).
The Wickers led by eight points in a wind-assisted first term, and after defending stoutly in the second term through Brady Graham and James Gentile, led by 15 points at three-quarter-time.
An early goal by Berwick early in the final term set the scene for an exciting finish as Beaconsfield staged a late fightback but was beaten by time and a resolute Wickers combination.
It took until the final term for the Wickers' under 13s to shake off a determined Cranbourne to romp home by nine points, 6.8(44) to 5.5(35).
Cranbourne matched Berwick in fitness and intensity and it wasn't until late in a torrid last quarter that the Wickers were able to secure the points.
Under 10 white had a convincing 49-point win against Narre South Lions after losing their past two games.
Berwick kicked four goals with the wind in the opening term, and with the backline standing firm, made it hard for the Lions to make use of their wind-assisted time in the second quarter.
Kicking against the wind in the final term, the Wickers produced their best football of the season.
They were led by Riley Lucas, Jack Havers and Oscar Clavarino, who helped keep the Lions goalless.
Under 10 blue were also impressive against Mossgiel Park in winning, 8.9(57) to 1.1(7).
The under 9s produced their best team effort of the season against Fountain Gate.
