MPNFL: Brendan Fevola heads north

31 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
IT seems unlikely that former AFL star Brendan Fevola will play in the MPNFL Casey Cardinia League this season.

The former Carlton and Brisbane spearhead indicated during the week that he was set on playing in the Ovens and Murray Football League.

The Coleman medallist is believed to be in talks with Yarrawonga, where former Richmond rover Craig Ednie and Hawthorn defender Joel Smith played last season.

"It's pretty exciting, I'm looking forward to it," Fevola told The Border Mail.

"I can't tell you which club. It's only very early in negotiations. I've got a meeting with my manager on Monday so I will know more after that." Fevola played with VFL club Casey Scorpions last season but played with Narre Warren while gaining fitness.
