ROC finished its Casey Cardinia Football League season on a high with a thrilling three-point win over Narre Warren at Officer Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
In another wasted year for the Kangas, they were at least able to celebrate their final home-and-away game of the year, giving them something to build on for next season.
The Magpies charged home from a 22-point three-quarter-time deficit but still went down 14.13(97) to 14.10(94).
Kris Fletcher was the key to the win for the Kangas with three goals in a best-on-ground performance.
Phil Nanfra and Greg Tivendale were also four-quarter performers for the winners.
Glenn Hamilton and Jarrod Anderson were the best of the Pies and Brett Evans finished with four
goals.
Cranbourne tuned up for finals with an emphatic 131-point win against Keysborough at Rowley Allen Reserve on Saturday.
The Eagles left nothing in the tank as they rammed home 11 goals in the opening half and a further 13 in the second half, restricting the Borough to one goal in the same period.
The win had Cranbourne finish on top of the Casey Cardinia ladder, two games clear of Narre Warren.
The race for fifth place went to the wire as expected, Berwick getting the four points for the bye and Devon Meadows missing out on the September action.
Do veton led all afternoon to beat Tooradin by 21 points, Ryan Hendy booting three goals and Michael Henry dominating for the winners.
The Doves kicked seven goals to four in the second half to win 12.14(86) to 9.11(65). Beau Miller and Michael Hobbs were the best of the Seagulls.
Devon Meadows had to pick up the four points at home against Beaconsfield to ensure a finals berth.
But Beaconsfield jumped the home side in the opening term and never let them back in, winning 10.9.(69) to 8.7(55).
Pakenham warmed up for the finals by easily accounting for Hampton Park by five goals.
The qualifying final between Narre Warren and Beaconsfield will be played at Edwin Flack Reserve, Berwick, this Saturday.
The elimination final is on Sunday at Pakenham Football Ground between Pakenham and Berwick
