06 Jul, 2010 12:00 AM
CRANBOURNE proved itself the real premiership deal by ending the winning streak of Casey Cardinia Football League premier Pakenham on Saturday.

The Eagles are on top of the ladder after their 16.13(109) to 9.8(62) win on the back of a five-goal match-winning break at half-time.

Matthew Fletcher was best on ground with six goals for Cranbourne and Marc Holt booted three goals. Ryan Davey was in red-hot form. Troy Tharle-Adams was outstanding for Cranbourne also.

Jarred Goldsack, Corey Lenders and Rob Elston were the best of the Lions.

But it was Narre Warren that caused the upset of the round, smashing Beaconsfield by 10 goals, 15.10(100) to 5.10(40).

Three points separated the sides at half-time before the Pies booted 10 goals to one in the second half.

Nick Scanlon kicked five for the home side and Jackson Parker kicked three. Michael Collins and Chris Potalej dominated play. Skipper Daniel Mislicki and Daniel Calteri were Beacy's best.

Berwick is a game clear in fourth place on the ladder after scraping home in a thriller against Devon Meadows.

The Panthers booted 4.4 to 1.2 in the final quarter but fell short by five points, losing 6.9(45) to 7.8(50).

Andrew Tuck was superb for the Wickers and Grant Noonan was the major goalkicker with three. Daniel Rigg and Lucas Hoogenboom were the Panthers' best.

Keysborough was bundled out of the five after being rocked by ninth-placed Tooradin 19.20 (134) to 17.4(106).

Matt Davey was scintillating for the winners in a best-on-ground performance with 11 goals. Beau Miller and Aaron Hyde were also strong.

The Borough trailed by four points at half-time and 18 points at three-quarter time, Will Gayfer and Corey Wilkinson playing fine games. Tyson King was solid up front with five goals.

ROC tasted the sweet nectar of victory on Saturday, getting the four points against Doveton in a

13.8(86) to 11.12(78) win. Ben Tivendale and Dane Roy were the catalysts in the win.
