CRANBOURNE'S all-abilities football team is kicking back into action on Sunday. The Cranbourne Football Club-aligned side takes part in the Football Integration Development Association for players with an intellectual disability.

The squad has 20 players aged 14-35, many from Marnebek School, Frankston Special Developmental School and Gateway Industries.

Team co-ordinator Melanie Lindsay said new players were welcome, though registration for this season closes tomorrow.

"Otherwise we encourage people to come along and train with the idea of playing next season. It's for those players who wouldn't have the skills to play in mainstream footy."

Many of the players have returned after the team's successful inaugural season in 2009 - in which it played off in the B division grand final.

Plans are afoot at the football club to field a second team and all-abilities sides in Auskick, netball and cricket. The team trains 4.30-5.30pm on Tuesdays at Casey Fields.
