DANDENONG knew it had one player in the Victorian side for the national under-19 cricket championships, but the joy doubled when a second Panther was called up at the last minute.
Speedster James Wilcock was joined in the side by fast bowler Matt Willcocks for the championships that ended in Adelaide on Saturday.
Victoria finished third after mid-week losses to Queensland and Western Australia.
Both players took wickets and Wilcock showed some batting prowess, making a 31 and 40 not out in the Bushrangers' two losses.
Berwick product Wilcock averaged 71 from three innings with the bat and took six wickets at 23. Willcocks got fewer opportunities with the ball but took four wickets at 30 in six matches.
■ The Panthers scored a first-innings win over Camberwell on Saturday.
The Panthers were bowled out for 218, easily passing the Magpies' 168. Batting again, the Magpies finished 5-138 from 41 overs.
■ Prahran passed Dandenong's 9-240 with eight wickets down in the Premier Cricket one-day semi-final at Toorak Park on Sunday.
