Woman found dead after fire

A 37-YEAR-old female has been found dead following a house fire in Darling Way, Narre Warren.

The CFA were called to the single story house about 1.30am on December 14 to find the house well alight.

The deceased woman, Mary Cook, was alone in the house at the time.

The arson squad are investigating the cause of the fire.

The results of the autopsy have yet to be

released.

An unoccupied house in Glasscocks Road, Berwick, was also destroyed in a suspicious fire last Tuesday.

The Berwick and Narre Warren CFA were called to a grassfire near the corner of Clyde and Glasscocks roads but arrived to find the rear of the house

ablaze.

The fire was believed to have started at the back of the house and spread to the roof.
