Windmill's role call for the next big event

26 Oct, 2009 08:23 AM
CALLING all want-to-be actors. Next month Windmill Theatre Company is auditioning for its 2010 production of Miss Saigon.

Geoff Shields said there were roles for people of all ages and abilities.

"You don't need to have past experience but, because of the theme of the production, we are hoping to get a few people with an Asian background if possible.

"The production will be very multicultural."

Mr Shields said people would need to dedicate themselves to two rehearsals a week as well as a weekend camp next year.

"We're really excited about it. After just finishing Les Miserables, we were looking for another good show to do and this one came up.

"It will be a totally different style of show to Les Miserables. One of the biggest challenges will be the scene where a helicopter comes in and everyone boards."

This Wednesday, there is an information night at 7.30pm, at Berwick Leisure Centre, Manuka Road, Berwick.

Auditions will be held from 7.45pm on November 4 and 5 and 10am-1pm and 3.30-5pm on November 8 at Berwick Leisure Centre Manuka Road, Berwick. To book a time, contact Geoff on 97045410.
