AN enterprising expo aims to bolster the local economy by making residents aware of businesses and services on their doorstep.

More than 60 businesses will display their wares and services at the Discover Casey-Cardinia expo at Cardinia Cultural Centre on Saturday, September 12.

"It will be a showcase of tourism and business in the City of Casey and Cardinia Shire," said organiser Mary Benton.

The expo is the work of Women Making It Work, a networking group that is backed by Casey and Cardinia councils and promotes small businesses in the area.

A drawcard of the expo will be a pamper room with free massage, naturopathy consultations and beauty treatments offered by local practitioners. Throughout the expo a program of speakers will offer tips for small business operators and would-be business owners.

Discover Casey-Cardinia runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, September 12, at Cardinia Cultural Centre, Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham.
