NARRE Warren had Melbourne's third highest rate of car impoundments because of hoon behaviour last year.
There were 34cars seized in Narre Warren, with VR and VS Holden Commodores the most frequently impounded.
Frankston and Hoppers Crossing were equal first, with 35.
Dandenong had the fifth highest amount, with 32.
Senior Constable Linda Smallbones, of the Narre Warren traffic management unit, said the majority of cars seized in Casey were due to burn-outs and speed-related offences. Most offenders were aged between 18 and 21, and the great majority were male.
In the first full calender year of Operation Hoon, Victoria Police have impounded 2600 vehicles from dangerous drivers across the state.
Hoon offences statewide included excessive speed; burn-outs and loss of traction; careless driving; racing; driving while disqualified; failure to have proper control; causing smoke or undue noise; and evading a police pursuit.
The most common age of offenders across the state was 18 to 21, followed by 22 to 25 and 26 to 30.
The most common car being driven by hoons was the Holden Commodore 837, followed by Ford Falcon 220.
Males accounted for 97.8 per cent and females 2.2.
