Tennis anyone? Funding pledge

10 Dec, 2007 07:08 AM
A STATE-of-the-art tennis facility will be built in Narre Warren, with the State Government committing $347,000 to build the centre.

Sport Minister James Merlino visited the site last Thursday to announce the funding.

He said six synthetic clay tennis courts and a pavilion would be built next to Narre Warren South P-12 College.

"There are more than 18 tennis clubs in the City of Casey and a shortage of tennis courts to cater for this demand."

Casey Council has committed $700,000 to the works, which are expected to be completed by mid-2009.
