 Take time for reflection

Take time for reflection

21 Dec, 2009 03:00 AM
AT this time each year, we reflect on the achievements, challenges and significant milestones of the year and look forward with anticipation to what the new year may hold.

Christmas is a time for family and friends to gather together and give thanks for what we have and realise how lucky we are to live in such a wonderful country.

It's also a time when it's important to support those in the community who are less fortunate than ourselves.

On behalf of the council, I would like to thank Casey's committed and active volunteers, community groups and organisations who work tirelessly to support those in need throughout the year, in particular the holiday period.

I look forward to embracing the many opportunities and challenges facing Casey as the largest municipality in the state as it continues to experience significant growth and helping to achieve the council's vision of creating a sustainable, innovative and caring city.

On behalf of the councillors and staff of the City of Casey, I wish you and your family a safe, peaceful and joyful Christmas and holiday season and a prosperous 2010.

Cr Lorraine Wreford, City of Casey Mayor
