A PAKENHAM resident leading the charge against a proposed subdivision in his court says the development will hurt his neighbourhood.
A long-time Adam Court resident, who did not want his name used, said the owners of houses around the property were angry there had been little council consultation about the proposal.
"Residents in the area are united against this small subdivision.
"This is a nice, quiet court and we don't want a second dwelling when all the other blocks are single-dwelling lots."
The resident said the court already had more than 30 cars. "The area is really busy with the medical centres, kindergartens and lots of traffic.
"This type of redevelopment would change our way of life - turn everything upside down."
Despite a letter from Cardinia Shire Council, which explained the proposal and invited residents to comment, the resident said there had been no public warnings of the plans. "I haven't seen anything, any signs, and there has only been a trickle of letters handed to a few of the residents."
Central ward councillor Brett Owen said residents were still welcome to lodge their objections. He said if there were more than five objections, the matter would come before the council at a future town planning committee meeting.
