Spirit's alive and well

22 Dec, 2008 03:00 AM
A STRANGER brought home the spirit of Christmas to an elderly Narre Warren resident last week - and all for a few dollars.

Audrey* (surname withheld) was shopping at a wholesale market at Fountain Gate when she was $3 short of the total and could not afford to buy the goods in her basket.

"I was about to start taking things back when the check-out girl said another customer had paid for me," Audrey told The Journal.

"My daughter was in the store and we went looking for the woman to thank her but couldn't find her. She was a complete stranger and it was a beautiful thing to do.

"I am thinking of her and I wish her a very merry Christmas."
