Service to expand

21 Dec, 2009 03:00 AM
A CASEY financial counselling service is set to expand to meet the demands of a growing number of families under financial pressure.

The Casey North Community Information Service will receive about $150,000 in federal funding over two years to help people manage their debts and plan their finances.

Community Services Minister Jenny Macklin, pictured with service manger Susan Magee, visited the Fountain Gate-based service with Holt MP Anthony Byrne last week.

She said that in the lead-up to Christmas, more people were knocking on doors of providers to help them to put food on the table and pay rent and bills.
