School's cool as Casey preppies set a record

01 Feb, 2010 09:27 AM
A RECORD number of 2661 'peppy preppies' will walk through Casey public school gates today in the biggest prep intake of all Victorian municipalities.

Charlotte Adam, 5, was among the excited first timers. Mum Belinda said Charlotte had been wearing her Clyde Primary School uniform every day for three weeks before school started.

"She can't wait," Mrs Adam said ahead of the big day. Charlotte said she was looking forward to meeting the inhabitants of the school's chook shed.

"But I am also happy about meeting new friends," she said.

Mrs Adam's son Tarkyn, 8, attends the same school.

"It's a bit sad as she's my last child but it's good to see her spreading her wings. There's no turning back now."
