Road duplication to ease squeeze

22 Dec, 2008 03:00 AM
CLYDE Road is a step closer to being duplicated with the State Government investing $1million towards the project's planning.

Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato said the project would include the removal of the level crossing and doubling the capacity of the road from two lanes to four between Kangan Drive and Main Street.

Narre Warren North MP Judith Graley said the road project had been a priority.

"Although the installation of traffic lights at Enterprise Avenue has provided some traffic relief, the increasing number of vehicle movements means that a longer term solution to Clyde Road is necessary," she said.
