Pretty good chances

BEAUTY, they say, is in the eye of the beholder and two young women from Casey, on Thursday at the Berwick Inn, took their chance to show off their best in a bid to be the next Ralph Cover Girl.

It's a tough call but the girls are also out to snag the Australian Swimwear Model of the Year title and thousands of dollars in prizemoney.

Debbie Sath De'Montero of Narre Warren South and Natasha Klinger of Hampton Park donned their swimsuits to compete in the first heat of the competition on Thursday when the Journal caught up with them.

Ms Sath De'Montero, 24, a customer service clerk and aspiring model, said she took up the challenge to realise her dream of becoming the next top model. "It's tough all right. If we win this heat we'll go into the finals next month to compete against other finalists.

Modelmode choreographer Rebecca Jane, who is co-ordinating the event, said competition was tough.

The top four girls from each three heats will compete in the final heat on December 17 at the Berwick Inn and the winner will be flown to Sydney to compete for the ultimate prize.
