PAKENHAM pool has increased its summer opening hours after a strong push from residents.
The pool, which opened on November 17, will extend its hours from noon until 7pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 7pm on the weekend.
Cardinia Mayor Bill Ronald said the decision to increase the opening hours was reflective of the pool's popularity.
"The council is responding not only to the large number of inquiries it has received about opening hours, but also the extensive community usage of the pool," he said.
The pool will be open for extended hours when the temperature is more than 30 degrees at the scheduled time of closing and there are still at least 30 people at the facility. It will not when the temperature is below 20.
