Police to crack down on wild parties

21 Jan, 2008 01:58 PM
A 16-year-old Narre Warren youth has been charged with producing child pornography and causing a public nuisance after a party in Narre Warren South.

The youth was bailed to appear in the Children's Court on February22. Another youth, also 16, was interviewed by police, but no charges have been laid.

The party, which attracted up to 500 revellers, had been posted on the internet.

Police last week said they were determined to crack down on parties which get out of control .

Senior Sergeant Russell Patten, of Endeavour Hills police, said three patrol cars attended the initial call-out after being contacted by concerned residents.

The police dog squad and air wing were called in to help disperse the partygoers.

Three police cars were damaged in the fracas.

Information to Narre Warren police on 97053111. See pages 8 and 9 for more on teenage parties.
