Police seeking clues on fatality at railway station

25 Aug, 2008 01:32 PM
PAKENHAM detectives are appealing for public help following the death of a man at Pakenham railway station last week.

Detective Phil Jury of Pakenham's criminal investigation unit said officers were called to the station about 9.15pm last Thursday.

The body of the unidentified man was found on the tracks, and early investigations point to his being hit by a train. "We are asking that anyone who knows of someone missing who has not yet reported it to police should contact Crime Stoppers or Pakenham police station," Detective Jury said.

The man was between 20-30 years, about 170 centimetres, unshaven, with an olive complexion and short dark hair. He was wearing a blue windcheater with red stripes on the sleeves and 'Valley Statesman RLFC' printed on the front, a grey Nike T-shirt with white trim, white runners and blue jeans.
