Plenty mo' for your money

24 Nov, 2008 12:06 PM
FACIAL hair has become an unofficial part of the uniform at Cardinia Shire Council with more than 50 male staff taking part in Movember.

The event, which raises money for prostate cancer research and depression, has men of all ages battling it out to see who can grow the best moustache in a month.

Chief executive Garry McQuillan and general managers Michael Ellis, Phil Walton and Neil Thorpe are among the high-profile members of the Cardinia Mojos.

Team organiser and council asset management co-ordinator Graeme Fletcher said so far the team had raised $3000 of its $5000 target.

"We've had a fantastic response. Throughout Australia, around one in 60 men are involved in Movember while at the council it's more like one in three."
