Pedal power takes on Officer

21 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
INSTRUCTOR Steve Taylor keeps a close eye on the staff members and parents learning how to become cycling teachers at Officer Primary School last week. The school hosted two days of Bike Ed training for primary schools from across Cardinia Shire.

The training teaches adults about bike safety, correct helmet fittings and practical on road riding skills. After being accredited, participants will be able to run Bike Ed training with pupils aged 9-13 at their school.

The council's Streets Ahead project is funding 15 teachers to attend the training days.
