HAY and lucerne are desperately needed to feed horses and other grazing animals in fire-ravaged areas.

Devon Meadows wildlife rescuer Brendan Smith, who works alongside Nigel Williamson at Nigel's Animal Rescue, said fodder was still very much needed.

"It's not even just the horses, but grazing animals such as wombats, wallabies and kangaroos that eat lucerne.

"A lot of pasture was burnt

out and we are struggling to

keep up with these animals' needs.

"We have a couple of people who have donated their time and trucks so we can deliver the food as soon as we get it."

There is also a desperate need for birdseed.

If anyone can help or would like to make a food donation call Nigel on 0427533083.

Donations can also be delivered to Nigel's Wildlife Rescue Centre at 43 Browns Road, Devon Meadows.
