Park upgrade in full swing

30 Mar, 2009 10:50 AM
NEW paths and playground equipment are on the way to Kooweerup's Cochrane Park.

The upgrade to make the park more accessible to visitors is being partly funded by a $49,900 State Government grant.

Community Development Minister Peter Batchelor visited last Thursday to view the site and meet people involved with the project.

"The playground will be fitted with a 'liberty swing' that gives children in wheelchairs the chance to use the play equipment. The new pathways will mean everyone will have easier access to the playground," Mr Batchelor said.

"The upgrade will also include the installation of new picnic shelters, barbecues and seating."
