BEACONSFIELD'S Lisa McIntosh overcame a bout of nerves to snare the 200-metre T37 gold medal just two days after winning the 100m final.
McIntosh, who has cerebral palsy, took her all-time Paralympic medal tally to seven, with five golds, by defeating Ukraine's Viktoriya Kravenchenko and Germany's Maria Seifert with a time of 29.28 seconds.
She won the 100m earlier in the week. But the athletics veteran, who also claimed gold in Sydney, said she was hit by a case of pre-race jitters.
"I didn't really get a good night's sleep, was nervous and didn't know what to eat in the morning," McIntosh said.
Unusually, it was her blistering time in the heats that brought the nerves on.
"I didn't know what to expect - it was a question of did I peak too soon or were the girls just going through the motions?"
McIntosh, 25, a three-time Paralympian, is unsure about her sporting future and competing in London in 2012.
"I'm going to take six months off and then reassess, I think," she says.
McIntosh's stellar Paralympic career includes two world records and seven medals from eight events at the Paralympic Games.
"My career has been a blast - I couldn't ask for much more."
