CASEY'S Da Capo Singers became part of the World Youth Day extravaganza on Friday when they sang to 40,000 WYD pilgrims at Melbourne's Telstra Dome.

The Berwick-based choir, well-known in the music community, were invited to showcase the unique musical culture of Australia.

The choir performed two works, Hold The Baby Jesus, by Melbourne composer Christopher Willcock, with text by Melbourne icon Michael Leunig, and Dawn Mantras, by Ross Edwards.

The Da Capo Singers were formed in 1997 by graduates of the Berwick Youth Choir.

The Da Capo's next concert will be at the Clyde Public Hall, Saturday, September 13 at 8pm.
