Most of my jokes are based on real-life experiences.
So what's your new show about?
It's sort of an accumulation of events since I was last here 18 months ago. It has been quite an interesting time.
Someone once threatened to kill you over a joke. Has anyone attacked you lately?
I'm one of the least dangerous comedians around. I don't go out of my way to offend people but with the sheer amount of shows I do, things happen.
There are crazy people or you get stalkers or people take offence. I don't know what it is. I have a bit of a personality where people think they can come up and talk to me.
I read on your blog that you went to Las Vegas and there was a slot machine called the Credit Crunch.
Yes, there was. At a place like Vegas that doesn't surprise me. It was the most crass place I've ever been in my life.
You're from Scotland. Do you get people coming up to you asking questions about Scotland, like whether you like haggis?
I had friends down from London and everyone had to bring a dish. I brought deep-fried haggis balls with a cranberry sauce. Our philosophy in Scotland is that just about everything can be deep-fried. Like Mars Bars. That was one of our inventions. Television, telephones and deep-fried Mars Bars. We invented a lot of inventions that are household items that will keep you at home. That's funny, because the Scots have got this image of running around in the outdoors wearing kilts and waving swords, like in Braveheart.
