NARRE WARREN South MP Judith Graley returned to her office last week after undergoing surgery for breast cancer last month.
At this stage of her treatment, she will be in the office each Tuesday but, speaking with the Journal on her first day back last week, she said she felt "very well".
While at home, Ms Graley said she was kept busy keeping up with local issues.
She welcomed the State Government's announcement of the selective-entry school to be built at Monash University's Berwick campus.
"With Casey's rapid growth, having the school here will give our children better opportunities ... this includes our other education institutions like Chisholm TAFE, VCAL programs in secondary colleges, the future technical education centre, Monash University and the future selective-entry school."
In response to concerns raised by Mary Bluett, president of the Victorian branch of the Education Union, that the school would have a "downward effect" on public schools, Ms Graley said it was more about "raising the level of education across all schools".
