IT'S not every stage show that you get the chance to win a frozen turkey. But for one lucky audience member of Queen of Bingo they can do just that.
Co-star of the show Evelyn Krape says the show is about more than just bingo.
"We have a target audience, but it is not just for those who play bingo or have played. It is also about the relationship between two sisters."
Evelyn, who plays the older sister Sis, says the interaction between the sisters is both funny and endearing.
"We have both got our own Achilles heel and that is what gets revealed throughout the show until they finally get closer in the end. It's a really fun, warming show."
Her research for the show included spending a night in a bingo hall.
"It was amazing to see the ritual of what people brought with them as good luck charms. People have their table set up with really amazing things.
While happy to act out a bingo game, Evelyn admits it's not her idea of fun.
"I don't need that kind of anxiety in my life. It is too high pressure," she says, laughing.
In Queen of Bingo the audience also get a chance to play their own bingo game during intermission.
"It's the only show in town where people get to win a frozen turkey in intermission. What more can you ask for."
