Locked in to life's ride

21 Dec, 2009 03:00 AM
ST PATRICK'S, Pakenham Springs, Pakenham Hills and Pakenham Consolidated primary school pupils now have even more reasons to scoot or skate to school, with the installation of lockable storage units.

The units, which hold scooters, skateboards and helmets, were designed by local handyman Rob Roberts, of Lakeside Maintenance, in the hope that it would encourage students to be more active.

Active Children's Officer Kate Beveridge said pupils and teachers loved the new storage units.

"Students now feel safer with their scooters and skateboards locked up and teachers have stopped worrying about tripping hazards in the classroom."
