POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Hallam on Australia Day.
The male victim suffered a fractured jaw and needed stitches to his eye after being struck by another man inside the Hallam Hotel at 2am. It is unclear whether the victim was struck with an object or a fist.
The suspect is described as Caucasian with a stocky build and fair hair. He was wearing a grey-brown T-shirt.
