 Green light for Clyde Road

Green light for Clyde Road

28 Sep, 2009 09:34 AM
TRAFFIC lights, at the cost of $2.2 million, will be installed at the intersection of Clyde and Centre roads in Berwick.

The safety measure was part of a $2.9 million package for Melbourne's south-east announced by the State Government last Monday.

Narre Warren South state MP Judith Graley said many residents were concerned about traffic congestion, delays and dangerous driving practices due to the long waits at the intersection.

"Clyde Road is a major road in the local area and duplication has made it a very good road to use," she said.

Roads Minister Tim Pallas, who visited the site with Ms Graley and Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan, also announced a $550,000 upgrade for lighting at the intersections of Heatherton Road and Power Road, Endeavour Hills, and Princes Highway East and Fitzgerald Road in Narre Warren.
