Fire safety drive starts

21 Dec, 2009 03:00 AM
A NEW information van for the CFA Westernport region aims to provide comprehensive and up-to-date information for residents during the coming bushfire danger period.

Equipped with a huge array of information on how residents can best "prepare, act and survive," the Community Education trailer will visit events, markets and community gatherings across the region.

CFA Westernport area community development co-ordinator Steven Corrigan said the trailer carried all the latest key messages to come out of the Royal Commission.

"We have a presenter with the trailer who will present a FireReady Victoria presentation to attendees on-site and provide an opportunity for them to ask their questions.

"The best part about the trailer is that the messages it carries can be changed when we hit other seasons, and talk about other issues such as house fires."
