YOU don't have to travel far to enjoy the races. In the south-east there are four racing clubs hosting their own major events including Oaks Day, Christmas carnivals and family fun days.
Here's a list of upcoming events at Pakenham and Cranbourne racing clubs.
November 5: Oaks Day, Pakenham. This day is all about the fashion on the fields. Gates open at 11am. Entry: adults $20, concession $15, children under 18 free when accompanied by an adult.
November 8: I Love Frankston Cup Day, Cranbourne
This day will offer displays and demonstrations to showcase activities and tourist attractions in Frankston City. Gates open 10.30am. Entry: adults $15, concession $10, children under 17 free.
November 22: Christmas Carnival Race Day, Cranbourne
This day will include carnival rides. Gates open 10.30am. Entry: adults $15, concession $10, children under 17 are free.
December 4: Christmas Race Day, Pakenham. The highlight of the event will be a visit from Santa. Gates open at 11am. Entry: adults $8, concession $6 and children under 18 free when accompanied by an adult.
