Driver trapped in Hallam peak-time smash

A 55-YEAR-old woman was trapped in her car for more than an hour after a two-vehicle collision on the South Gippsland Freeway in Hallam on Monday morning. Intensive care paramedics were called to the crash scene on the freeway’s outbound lanes near the Frawley Road overpass at 7.50am.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the woman sustained a fractured right arm, right ankle and ribs.

She was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
