A NARRE Warren residents group and the State Government planning arm VicUrban have reached a resolution over a long-running dispute over a housing development earmarked for Drysdale Avenue.
Cell K residents group chairman Anthony Volpi said that after a six-hour meeting with VicUrban at a Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal mediation hearing, it was agreed that the number of blocks in the development would be reduced by three.
It means the average block size will increase by 170 square metres.
The average block size of 2000 square metres is in keeping with the existing properties in the Cell K planning area.
VicUrban has also guaranteed that all houses will be subject to strict building requirements.
Mr Volpi said it had been a long battle, but praised the lobbying efforts of the residents committee.
"We had a policy of asking the hard questions and looking for the right answer."
