CARDINIA Youth are trying their hands at becoming skilled circus performers.
The innovative, original youth-based performance project offered by Westside Circus is in full flight preparing for two public performances in November.
Westside Circus trainer Gen Elmes said the project was rewarding for everyone involved.
A former pupil herself, Gen has been teaching with Westside for about a year and finds the role very rewarding.
"Its always exciting when you see kids that have been through the training to get the chance to show off their skills.
"The program offers kids that don't quite fit into the school system an alternative way to pursue their goals. It gives them direction and purpose.''
