Cardy sets out housing plan

27 Apr, 2009 09:48 AM
RESIDENTS still have a few days to voice their opinions on the future of housing development in Cardinia Shire.

The public will have the opportunity to comment on a Cardinia Housing Strategy, which will be used to guide council decisions to meet housing needs in the shire for the next 10-20 years.

Mayor Bill Pearson said the Housing Strategy was a critical planning tool.

"Our demography is changing as sections of the population age, the number of single people increase and our overall population more than doubles as thousands of new residents continue to move into the new estates," he said.
