Capturing a prized spot

25 May, 2009 10:23 AM
PHOTOGRAPHER George Fielding has snapped up a prize with a really pretty spot he reckons not many know about.

His snap of the BJ Wallis gardens in Pakenham won first prize in a competition at this year's Pakenham Show.

Judges ranked his entry the best in the Postcards - images of Cardinia Shire section.

Mr Fielding said the gardens, in a former quarry next to the council offices in Henty Way, could be one of the town's best kept secrets.

He said capturing the image was the result of being in the right place at the right time.

"It's 80 per cent opportunity," said the keen amateur photographer.

He was presented with a 100 voucher prize by Mayor Bill Pearson last week.
