Bolt from the blue

BLUE-light fever is set to hit Casey again with the next disco planned for April 5.

Last month's event proved to be a hit as the health promotion charity KIDS Foundation came on board and Neighbours stars Sweeny Young and Georgina Andrews made a special appearance.

KIDS Foundation have partnered with the Narre Warren Berwick Blue Light Disco to promote its message of safety and accident prevention for children.

The foundation's events manager Sophie Farrow said the new partnership was exciting.

"We currently deliver safety programs to over 1900primary schools across Victoria, and this is another great opportunity for us to spread the KIDS Foundation message of safety directly to young people and fund-raise for our programs as well."

Many who attended the disco took up the opportunity to have their photo taken with Sweeny and Georgina.

It proved a successful fund-raiser for the KIDS Foundation.

Blue Light is an initiative of the Victorian Police that offers young people from metropolitan and regional Victoria safe events in an alcohol-, drug- and violence-free environment.

The next Narre Warren-Berwick Blue Light disco is on Saturday, April 5, at the Berwick Leisure Centre in Manuka Road, Berwick.

It starts at 6:10pm.
