Benches needed for toymakers

27 Jul, 2009 09:43 AM
AFTER 20 years of making toys for disadvantaged children in Casey, the Berwick Woodworkers Group has worked its benches into the ground.

The painting benches in their workshop at the Old Cheese Factory need replacing.

Toy co-ordinator Rick Hoore said any available funds went directly into toy production,

leaving little for painting equipment. The club is asking anyone with spare lightweight steel frames to consider donating them to the club to make like easier for the hardworking "elves".

The club will pick them up, clean them and bolt them up.

Last year, the group donated more than 500 toys valued at more than $56,000 to under-privileged children in Casey.

To help or make a donation, contact Rick on 9702 2175 or Chris on 9707 2669.
