A thing called love

CASEY residents can catch the latest Comedy Festival production from Narre Warren comedian Barb Joseph without even leaving town.

Joseph's company Wanton productions will present Barb Joseph in 3D...divorced, dating and dangerous at the Cranbourne Community Theatre on April 10 and 11.

The show is the third in a series that takes a light-hearted look at relationships, dating, middle-aged sex and marriage.

Joseph, who has worked as a comedian in sketch groups and improvised comedy throughout the 1990s, says the show is an embellishment of her own experiences and her observations on life and relationships.

"But don't worry. It's not bitter or twisted.

It is a funny look at things that happen in our lives," she says.

The show follows Joseph's two Comedy Festival productions, So I Married an Arab in 2005 and 21st Century Housewife in 2006.

A show particularly suited to women from 30 to 50, Barb Joseph in 3D...divorced, dating and dangerous includes some very funny passages and sharp one-liners.

Theatregoers who arrive after 7.15pm can enjoy foyer music from local instrumental guitarist Bill Coxhead, wine tasting and refreshments.

Funds raised from snack bar sales will go to In My Heart Serendib Foundation to fund school supplies for children in North Sri Lanka.

Barb Joseph in 3D... is on at 8pm, April 10 and 11, at the Cranbourne Community Theatre, Brunt Street, Cranbourne. Tickets: $20. Bookings: 97715757 or showinfo@barbjoseph.com.au
